RUSH Documentary Premieres Tomorrow (Trailer)

Posted in Rush with tags , , , , , , on April 23, 2010 by tangentman

“Beyond the Lighted Stage” will make it’s debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City tomorrow. The documentary chronicles the life and times of Rush, the Canadian power trio that began its trek through the world of Rock and Roll some 40 years ago, and contains interviews with musicians (Billy Corgan, Gene Simmons, Sebastian Bach and Jack Black, to name a few) and fans.

The film will premiere in Canada on April 29th at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and will also air on VH1 and VH1 Classic on June 26th – mere days before the band embarks on their 45 date ‘Time Machine Tour’.

The official trailer is posted on the MSN.com website.

Peart’s “The Hockey Theme” to Debut Tonight

Posted in NHL, Philadelphia Flyers, Rush with tags , , , , , , on January 14, 2010 by tangentman

Rush drummer/percussionist/lyricist Neil Peart’s version of The Hockey Theme will premiere tonight at 7 o’clock on NHL on TSN in Canada during the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Being  Rush fan and a follower of all things NHL, I’m excited that Mr Peart was included in this effort.  Being in the US (and not being a subscriber of the NHL Center Ice cable package), I will not be able to hear the song tonight.  However, The Hockey Theme will be available on iTunes this coming Tuesday, January 19th.

There is a complete story on the TSN website.

A preview of the song is available on YouTube.

EDIT – Well, it didn’t take long at all for the video to be posted on YouTube.  Good stuff.

Greetings!

For some unknown reason, you have stumbled across my little spot in the blogosphere.  I have no idea what will appear here (or when), but what the hell, right?

I may talk about my favorite music, hockey – actual teams or the goings-on with my fantasy squads, or anything that pops into my head that needs letting out, such as the strange things I see at work on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.  So stop back when you have some time and see what the latest topic is.

With any luck at all, you might just be entertained.
